It's amazing how some people in this video could manage to laugh(5:54) and joke with each other while performing the surgery.Mastectomy is not advisable for breast cancer Stage 2 patients with over 60 of age.The cancer will just metastasize more rapidly after the surgery and will go up to Stage 4 in less than 6 mos.Don't know why some doctors still advise mastectomy knowing that it's not going to make things better.More chemo, more radiation, more drugs for nothing. Patient dies no matter what.

I had a left mastectomy in nov 2007, ive always wondered what thay did, (apart from take away my breast), its 2 late 2 prove helpful 2 me now, but i really hope this helps future patients. xx

this is the dilemma with breast cancer. obviously your mom's cancer had spread before she even knew it was there. in her case it didn't make any difference how she was treated locally (mastectomy or lumpectomy). in fact, if she advanced to Stage IV that quickly, you could argue that she didn't need any local treatment at all--just leave it alone.

This was amazing to see a live clip. I first off HOPE that this woman has recovered from this surgery well and that her survival will be a positive result! I wish I had video footage of my mastectomy, I too would have posted it. Today in this world of technology we are able to share some of the unknown. I think if I was a person who had never had breast cancer and I watched such videos I would have been more aware of any changes on my body that took place. Shay
